Plush Bear with Furry ATH-M2X Headphones

Furry Audio-Technica ATH-M2X, heavily modified (silver-plated copper shielded wiring, Blu-tack/Dynamat driver damping, Blu-tack/Dynamat/cotton/plastic fibre combined layered cup anti-vibration/isolation treatment). The artificial fur really could be any colour that's on sale, but here it is black

This is a bit of an experiment, the artificial fur is as fluffy and heavy as there was, the aim being sound isolation and windshielding (in the style of "deadcat" microphone windshields). Ironically, the earpads leak (and are the weakest point - but then they need time to mould), not the cups.

The headphones themselves are rather different from the stock ATH-M2X in every way. They're still small supra-aural headphones, which means they lack some ambience and power compared to circumaural (full-size) headphones like ATH-M50 and ATH-M40. Nevertheless quickness, clarity, dynamics and detail are very impressive - you can make out instrument character, detail, lyrics with an ease that simply shows them lifelike (you don't know what you're missing with regular headphones). They don't miss a thing, everything's crystal-clear.
